Memorial Day

Growing up Memorial Day was always filled with visiting the graves of family members passed on before us.  Being one of the oldest in my family and my mom being the oldest in hers, I had never met most of people whose graves we were visiting.  I was very lucky.

We started our weekend with a trip to Milford with Uncle Tom, Aunt Elaine, Josie and Gning-Gning.  Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that great so we spent most of the weekend in the house with a 2 and 3-year-old.  Our weekend had its happy moments and its dramatic ones, but we all had fun.

Brooklyn did get to go fishing with Daddy in the cold rainy weather and reeled in her very first fish by herself, very cool.

She also tried her fish after Daddy cooked it up for her.  She didn’t have more than one bite, but she did try it.

On Monday we went to the cemetery to decorate Yeh-Yeh and Lucas’s headstones.

We found this little onesie and put it in a wreath between the two headstones.DSC00909

The two girls had some fun shoulder rides while we were there.  Josie loved “petting” Uncle Robby and Brooklyn loved “cuddling” with Daddy’s hair.DSC00923DSC00925

After a yummy lunch with the Yee fam we headed up Provo Canyon with Grandma and Grandpa Kennedy and family for a yummy Dutch oven dinner.
