Brooklyn is in this stage where she likes to take her diaper off. Dry, wet, poopy, whatever, she'll take it off if she is in the mood. A few weeks ago Mommy put Brooklyn down for her morning nap. Brooklyn was talking and talking, and crying, and about 15 minutes later Mommy went in to check on Brooklyn (if she really starts crying, Brooklyn will get so upset that she'll throw up). When she entered Brooklyn's room she saw a naked, well bottom half naked baby in her crib smiling at Mommy. Mommy got Brooklyn out of her crib and put a new diaper on her, then went to check out the damage in the crib. There was a perfectly dry diaper that had been taken off and a nice big wet spot where Brooklyn had peed in the crib. So Mommy changed the sheets and blankets and then put a newly clean baby down for her nap again. This time Mommy waited about 20-25 minutes before checking on Brooklyn. This time Mommy found her half naked baby again, and Mommy was NOT happy. Mommy got Brooklyn out of the crib again, put on a new diaper and headed to look at the crib again. This time she found another large wet spot and some "track" marks. When Mommy found the diaper that had been taken off she discovered that this diaper had a poopy in it and Brooklyn had "cleaned" herself off by sitting in different spots in her crib and leaving little "tracks". Not Mommy's best day.
About a week later Mommy put Brooklyn down for a nap again. About 20 minutes after putting her down Brooklyn started screaming. So in went Mommy to keep Brooklyn from throwing up only to find a bottom half naked baby again, only this time she wasn't smiling, she was standing in one corner of her crib scared, crying and pointing at something saying "cah, cah". Mommy looked at where Brooklyn was pointing and discovered a rather large "log" in the crib with Brooklyn. Of course being the nice sensitive Mommy that she is, Mommy immediately started laughing. Brooklyn kept freaking out and pointing and saying "cah, cah" so Mommy eventually stopped laughing long enough to get Brooklyn out of her crib and calm her down and get her diapered back up again. Brooklyn had an extremely hard time calming down, she was really freaked out about that "log" in her crib. Mommy showed her that it was gone and that the crib was all cleaned up, but Brooklyn was still stressed. Mommy took her out to the rocking chair to get some TLC before going back down for her nap. Mommy got Brooklyn to sleep while rocking her and went to put her back to bed. When Mommy put Brooklyn back in her crib she woke up a little bit and started to get worried and started in with her "cah cah" again, but she was tired enough that she did go back to sleep. Ever since this incident any time Brooklyn sees something a little different (IE. a piece of black plastic on the ground) she starts to get worried, points and says "cah cah". A good thing about this is that she does stay away from Jasmine's "logs" in the backyard now too.
Moving on to Animal Sounds...
Brooklyn has started to do animal sounds. It is adorable! She knows the cow, pig, dog, sheep, cat, lion, chicken, rooster, duck, and a few others that I can't think of. She has also been spending some time on YouTube with Daddy learning how to say "I love You" by watching Mishka the dog. Now when you ask her what Daddy says, she'll say "I love you", she'll also say that when you ask her what Mishka says. Is it sad that our daughter learned to say I love you from a dog? Last Friday Brooklyn woke up with one of her eyes a little puffy. Mommy gave her some benadryl to see if it was just an allergy. When Brooklyn woke up from her nap her eye was so big it was almost swollen shut, so Mommy and Daddy took Brooklyn to the doctor to see what was up. The doctor said that it was most likely a spider bite, and that when the swelling went down we would be able to see exactly where she was bit. They gave her a shot of antibiotics at the doctors office to start helping Brooklyn right away, and gave her some more to take for the next ten days. Brooklyn has been taking Benadryl almost ever four hours since then, the swelling is almost gone now, woo hoo! Now we have to have a spider hunt to track down the culprit and punish that mean old spider who hurt our little baby.

Okay, I have to add one more thing to this post. While writing this post Brooklyn did one more new thing. Brooklyn's crib has a piece that goes down and up to make it easy for Mommy to put her in and out of her crib. We normally leave it open after getting Brooklyn out of her crib. Today Brooklyn decided to try something new.
Brooklyn crawled back into her crib, after throwing as many stuffed animals and dolls as she could find in there first. Crazy little girl!
